How it Works

The Weekly Table

The Weekly Table

The Weekly Table is a weekly meal subscription built around real food for growing children. Our meals are prepared with even the youngest eaters in mind, using the kinds of ingredients, flavors and slow-cooked dishes you might expect from a good restaurant or a grandmother’s kitchen.

What Comes Each Week

Each week, your child receives seven different generously portioned meals, prepared with the flexibility of a child’s appetite in mind. Portions leave room for seconds, revisiting a favorite later, or stretching dinner into lunch the following day, depending on your child’s age and appetite.

Meals arrive chilled in our reusable stainless-steel Yakumi containers. Most are ready to simply warm and serve, while occasionally a component is best finished fresh at home—perhaps a quick sear of fish or a few minutes boiling gnocchi. We’ve already done the hours-long braise, simmered the stock and prepared the sauce; what’s left for you is simply the finishing touch that makes the meal better at the table.

Simple finishing and serving instructions are included with each week’s menu.

Real Food, With Children in Mind

Many of our meals begin with a rich, varied base and are given time to cook slowly — bones and meat, vegetables, herbs, grains, legumes and nourishing fats building flavor together rather than relying on one dominant ingredient. Think braises, broths and the kind of food that sticks to your ribs. Cooking this way allows flavors to deepen and tougher ingredients to become tender.

Fat has an important place at a young child’s table. It provides concentrated energy, helps the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins, forms part of the structure of our cells, and supports normal brain and nervous-system development during periods of rapid growth.

We also season for a younger palate. Children need much less sodium than adults, and their taste preferences are still developing, so our food may taste more lightly salted to an adult while still carrying plenty of flavor from herbs, spices and the cooking itself.

Food is prepared in shapes, sizes and textures with young eaters in mind, with particular attention to foods that can present a choking risk. No meal is choke-proof, and children should always be seated and closely supervised while eating.

Stronger or less familiar components — like a pesto or sauce — may be served on the side, giving your child space to dip, taste, touch or come back to them at their own pace.

Our goal isn’t to convince a child to eat something unfamiliar or turn every meal into a lesson. It’s simply to make good food easier to put in front of them, week after week.

What You'll Do at Home

Most of the work is already done for you. Many meals simply need to be warmed and served, while others may ask for one small finishing step — boiling the gnocchi, searing the fish, or spooning on a sauce.

The time-consuming part has already happened in our kitchen. While you may spend a few minutes finishing a meal at home, we’ve done the four-hour slow braise, built the sauce, prepped the vegetables and handled the long-form cooking for you.

The goal is to keep dinner easy without making it feel like convenience food.

Try a Week

Not ready to subscribe just yet? Start with a one-week trial. You’ll receive the same Weekly Table menu, prepared and packaged just as it would be for a regular subscription, without committing to another week.

If The Weekly Table feels like a good fit for your family, you can continue with a weekly subscription from there. Subscriptions can be paused or canceled when needed, so you’re not locked into weeks you won’t use.

Delivery

The Weekly Table is delivered fresh each Friday, generally between 12-4 PM. Delivery is included in the weekly price, so there is no additional delivery fee at checkout.

We’ll use the address you provide at checkout so your meals make it to the right doorstep. After you sign up, we’ll reach out by text to confirm your delivery details and make weekly delivery communication easy. Delivery is available throughout most of Maui, with only extremely remote areas excluded.

Reusable Containers

Your meals arrive in reusable stainless-steel containers that are designed to be returned and used again each week. A refundable $50 container deposit is collected when you begin.

Simply return your empty containers with your next delivery and we’ll wash them, sanitize them and put them back into rotation.

The containers are intended for storage and serving rather than cooking, so food should be transferred to appropriate cookware before reheating.

If a container is lost or not returned, its replacement cost will be deducted from your deposit. When your subscription ends and all containers have been returned, any remaining deposit will be refunded.

Allergies & Dietary Needs

We’re always happy to share ingredient information and answer questions about what’s in a meal.

We take care to prevent allergen cross-contact wherever we can. However, all food is prepared in a shared commercial kitchen, so accidental cross-contact is still possible. At this time, an allergen-free meal cannot be guaranteed. If your child has a food allergy or sensitivity, please reach out before ordering so we can review the menu and ingredients with you.

As we grow, we hope to offer additional menu options for some common dietary needs.

Why it Costs What it Costs

Food is expensive on Maui, and making this kind of food well takes time. The price of The Weekly Table reflects the ingredients themselves, the work of sourcing them, transportation, and the hours spent preparing each week’s menu.

We’re not charging you to do something you could easily throw together at home in fifteen minutes. Much of the value is in the work that happens before the meal reaches you — the broths, braises, sauces, chopping, simmering and long-form cooking that can take hours.

Ultimately, The Weekly Table is about buying back time while still putting good food on the table.
