FAQ

General

What kind of food is it?

It’s comforting food with a lot going on nutritionally — approachable dishes built with quality proteins, nourishing fats, vegetables, herbs and whole ingredients, often inspired by flavors and food traditions from around the world. Meals are prepared with young children in mind, including smaller cuts and manageable textures suited to developing eaters.

What age range is The Weekly Table for?

The Weekly Table is intended for little ones as early as around one year old, once they’re comfortably eating solid foods, and certainly for older children as well.

At its core, this is adult food adjusted for children — real dishes with smaller cuts, manageable textures, child-conscious seasoning and portions suited to growing appetites.

The Weekly Table is portioned to provide roughly 14 meals for a child around 1–3 years old. As children get older and appetites grow, the number of meals those portions provide will naturally vary.

Every child develops differently, so caregivers should always closely supervise eating and adjust the size or texture of foods as needed for their child’s individual eating skills.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Yes. Subscriptions can be paused or canceled when needed, so you’re not locked into weeks you won’t use. You’ll be able to manage your subscription through your customer account.

What day is delivery?

Deliveries are made fresh each Friday. The general island-wide delivery window is 12–4 PM, but your individual delivery window will depend on where you are located. After signup, I’ll reach out by text with a more specific timeframe for your area of the island and to confirm any delivery details.

If you’d like a better idea of timing before signing up, you’re always welcome to contact me with your location.

Is delivery included?

Yes. Delivery is included in the weekly price with no additional delivery charge at checkout. Standard delivery is available throughout most of Maui.

More remote areas, including Nahiku, Hana, Kaupo and Kahakuloa, are not currently part of the regular delivery route. If you live in one of these areas and are interested in The Weekly Table, please reach out — I’m happy to see whether a workable delivery route can be arranged.

What if my child has an allergy or dietary need?

At this time, The Weekly Table is prepared as a set weekly menu and individual meals cannot be modified to accommodate specific food allergies or dietary restrictions. I’m always happy to share ingredient information and answer questions so you can decide whether that week’s menu is appropriate for your child.

I take care to prevent allergen cross-contact wherever I can. However, all food is prepared in a shared commercial kitchen, so accidental cross-contact is still possible; therefore, an allergen-free meal cannot be guaranteed at this time.

As The Little Table Co grows, I hope to offer additional menu options for some common dietary needs.

How do the reusable containers work?

Meals arrive in reusable stainless-steel Yakumi boxes, accompanied by smaller stainless containers as needed, and wrapped in a traditional Japanese-style furoshiki cloth. A refundable $50 container deposit is collected when you begin.

Simply return your empty, rinsed containers and furoshiki with your next delivery. I’ll wash and sanitize the containers and wrap before they’re put back into rotation for the following week.

If a container or wrap is lost or not returned, its replacement cost will be deducted from your deposit. When your subscription ends and everything has been returned, any remaining deposit will be refunded.

Why reusable containers and wrapping?

The system keeps unnecessary single-use packaging out of the weekly routine and reduces plastic use wherever practical.

The stainless-steel containers are for storage and serving, not cooking, and should never be microwaved. The furoshiki wrap adds an extra barrier around the meal box to help contain moisture and food aromas in the refrigerator.

Both the containers and wraps are cleaned and reused each week.
